                    There are people who crib about the struggles of life at work, curse people as their routine and then there are people who smile through everything making each setback smaller each day.

Prashant Toraskar joined Ghatge Patil Transports in 2013 as an Assistant Manager in Human Resources Department. Prashant has seen the company through all it's phases and forms, be it the most hectic time for the operations, the annual events at GPT, re-organizing of the management etc. He has seen more faces in the organization than any of the employees currently.

       He says," My hometown is Kolhapur so I was keen on joining Ghatge Patil. Being present during the crucial years which changed the face of GPT, I know how things go about here."

How do you manage to keep your cool and a happy face round the clock each time?

I have simple rules that I follow be it at work or in your personal life. I compartmentalize things in my mind. It's easier said than done but it is not all that difficult to be content with your life.

Keep a balance everywhere you go

I notice the generation nowadays. Everyone is trying to keep up with the competition and the passion with which it is done is commendable, but they fail to realize that they lose balance. We all are running a race and tend to pass it on the generation to come. The usual routine can bog you down and hence balance is the key!

Remember that there is always a way out

A faster lifestyle has made us accustomed to faster solution and results. Today's internet interfacing, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence is created to be a boon to us but it has also made people impatient. A simple set back upsets us but we need to see beyond and find a way as there is always a way out.

Smile

I have encountered many ups and downs. It will be a wrong assumption that I am never upset. I think if you allow yourself to be happy, you will be. We all want earn money, do great things. But more than doing something one should start by being something. Stop and breathe. Be healthy. Be around your friends and family. Be there for someone in their difficult times and just Smile often.

How has been your journey with Ghatge Patil Transports?

GPT has taught me a lot. I had started my career in recruitment and now I am handling many parameters surrounding Human Resources. In my journey here, I have learnt that it takes pure hard work to get things moving. There is just no way out. It takes efforts to streamline the funds, salaries, close positions and bring clarity to the employees over their issues. People often belittle HR, claiming that it does not play much part in an organization but I can talk endlessly over the tenuous process of managing funds, crediting salaries and handling the after math of people issues. It is no cake walk. Now, I have this unparalleled confidence in the field and I am proud of myself to be tackling it well.
