A Second Generation of Inspiration

            

                       Mr. Shashikant Jadhav is the General Manager Operations at Ghatge Patil Transports. He is known for his humor apart from his dedicated and loyal service to the company amongst his colleagues. He is the 2nd generation employee from his family and has connections with GPT since four decades now. He is a busy man and while spotting him at a training session, he said,


"My father joined Ghatge Patil Transports in 1965 in Kolhapur as a truck body builder. He was close to Mr. Vasantrao Ghatge, the founder of Ghatge Patil Transports. My father was very happy to serve him as his boss treated him nothing less than family like other employees at the company.As a kid, I often used to accompany father and assist him in building the trucks. We are four brothers. My family had to battle many hardships but this company has pulled us out of every difficult phase that I can remember since my childhood.One of the best things about this company is that the organization actually treats us like family rather than just claiming the employees to be family members like other corporate companies do. It is a fact as I am the evidence for this. Soon, I joined GPT under the clerical department while my other three brothers joined under truck body department like my father had. The company's good will and faith in its employees is responsible for the rich culture which is not found in today's time. Where people complain about a bad boss, no time for personal and social life, office politics, we are one of the lucky ones to have unconditional support from our company."



                      From helping his father in building the trucks to being the GM of Operations, Mr. Jadhav is now responsible for generating the highest service level in the entire Ghatge Patil Transports across 6 hubs and 200 branches.The Operational activities tend to show improved figures in his presence and control. He is known to be a backbone of the Operations department.Mr. Shashikant Jadhav may not have been a Merit list topper but today he handles the entire Operations planning of a five decade old organization. We often limit ourselves by doubting our abilities.His journey is an inspiration to many and it tells us that you can do a lot more than what you have been provided with or what you have studied.

                    Mr. Devadi Nuruddin Hasankhan heads the maintenance department of Ghatge Patil Transports, in charge of engine overhauling and truck maintenance. He is involved in the Research & Development of optimized operations and improving the engine life of our trucks. He became a part of Ghatge family in 1984 under Ghatge Patil Automobiles. He was narrating his interview where he was asked to inspect a system. The test was to identify a missing unit and diagnose as to why the car won't start. Having a knack for inspecting and exploring various automobile components since he was a kid, it didn't take much time for him to identify that a unit from the fuel system is missing. Further, after checking the electrical system, he identified the wiring has been interchanged  too.
