Mr. Champalal Kothari, now a 68 year old man from a small town of Ahmednagar was taught early in his life to acquire a business life. In a native village called Thitesangvi, Kirana stores were in immense demand and Champalal being fully aware of this did not waste much time in opening his distribution. He takes it as a pleasure to make every product available to his people and finds joy is fulfilling the needs of his town.
All was well for many years until 1975. The flooding of Sina dam near Ahmednagar wiped away every bit of his business. He said it was a dark time for his family. One could clearly make out the ups and downs of his life from his eyes and his experienced business words like a typical Marwari.
He said,"Soon when the impact of the floods lessened we decided to move to Ahmednagar city where there would still be some opportunities to set up a store".
His Kirana shop, Nav Champa Agency was stacked neatly with a plethora of product lines and different brands. After moving to the city his Marwari business acumen soon found out that there is a huge demand of Incense sticks in the area or 'Agarbatti' as we call it. Out of the many products that he distributes, Incense sticks are the only material responsible for generating major chunk of his revenue.
We met him on a very busy day. Incense or Agarbatti sticks are an integral part in all the Hindu rituals so the sale during festive season in India is high and so is the tonnage of Agarbatti boxes in our trucks.
Mr. Champalal has been our loyal customer since 1995 and is one of the biggest distributors. His two sons, Mr. Kantilal and Paras are now taking it forward providing a hand in his florishing business. They receive the Incense sticks from Mysore, Bangalore, Bijapur, Pondichery, Indore and Nagpur.
On asking about the services of our trucks, he said that the delivering is done within time, the service is extremely secure and there are no incidents of shortage in the number of boxes or the material.Mr. Champlal Kothari is indeed a true patron to Ghatge Patil Transports and we are proud to carry tradition across the country by transporting the perfumed aura with many fragrances without which our Indian rituals are left incomplete.
